Student Organization Awards
The Student Activities and Organization awards are given every year during the Spring semester banquet to recognize students, student organizations, advisors, and departments. Each recipient receives the award for demonstrating excellence and leadership, providing an enriched student life. Each award focuses in key areas related to student life, successful event planning, and engagement with the community and co-sponsors. The awards also recognize both organizations and individuals for their efforts and hard work. The following awards are given out each Spring, during the Student Activities and Organizations Awards Banquet held towards the end of the semester:
Individual Awards
- Emerging Leader Award
The Emerging Leader Award is given to those individuals who demonstrate knowledge of and interest in campus activities and organizations. The recipients of this award display enthusiasm, motivation, communication, and organizational skills. Click Here
- Outstanding Advisor of the Year
The Outstanding Advisor of the Year is awarded to the student organization advisor who serves as a role model to students and has a strong belief in the organization that they represent. This advisor shows his or her willingness to commit sufficient time to the organization and promotes students’ personal growth by involving students in the decision making process for the organization. - Co-Sponsorship of the Year
The Co-Sponsorship of the Year Award is presented to the organizations providing the most outstanding co-sponsorship program or program series for the betterment of the campus, students, and Purdue University. This award is also presented to organizations that understand the importance of collaboration and display vision and understanding of campus needs.
- Outstanding Program
The Outstanding Program Award is presented to the student organization that implements the most outstanding campus program during the academic year. With over 900 student organizations, there are many exemplary programs throughout the year.
- Community Engagement & Involvement
The Community Engagement & Involvement Award is awarded to the student organization providing outstanding service to other people or a place. The event can be a large, one-time activity or a series of smaller projects that meet the needs of the community.
- Boilermaker Pride
The Boilermaker Pride Award honors a student organization for outstanding participation in a tournament competition. They must display outstanding sportsmanship, compete against a Big Ten opponent, and have active participation by all members in most competitions.
- Excellence Award
The Excellence Award is a “Lifetime Achievement Award” presented to student organizations. This award honors a student organization demonstrating outstanding continuous programs, leadership, and service. This award really captures the true excellence that Purdue student organizations aspire to reach while positively impacting student life.
All students, student organization advisors, faculty, and staff are invited to nominate individuals and organizations that are deserving of the recognition.
