Purdue Pilots, Inc. (PPI) is a member owned and operated flying club, a recognized Purdue University student organization, and an Indiana non-profit corporation. Our purpose is to provide safe, economical flight training and personal flying for our members. PPI membership is open to students, staff, and faculty of Purdue University at the West Lafayette campus and to their spouses.
Purdue Pilots, Inc. was formed in 1956 when two campus flying clubs merged. Since then, thousands of people have joined PPI.
PPI owns two Piper aircraft, a Piper Warrior II (N31862) and an Archer II (N38394). The Warrior is used primarily for basic flight instruction. The Archer II is equipped for instrument flight to support flight training through the instrument rating and longer cross country trips. Club operations are based at Purdue University Airport in West Lafayette, Indiana (KLAF).
